We said we were building our first garden at Barnsdale and here it is…
Everyone was really pleased with it. Our favourite bit is the gabion fire pit, quite easy to build as well.
Put your concrete footing in the batch first, then build your inner wall. Remember to use fire proof brick, we have found engineering bricks are fine. After this we constructed the steel cage around the walling and backfilled with cobbles, all topped off with sawn lime stone, which was laid on a mortar bed. They really are great to have in your especially if you like entertaining. After you’ve cooked you can throw on a few more logs and enjoy yourself late into the night. Looks very effective don’t you think?

p.s Don’t forget – if you are going to have a go make sure you leave a couple of gaps in the brickwork at the bottom so your fire can draw (go on, have a go!)
