Well, it’s been a busy few months for NGL - what with Chelsea, Gardeners’ World Live all finished and now our first show garden at Barnsdale Gardens. It’s a beach type garden and is sponsored by the clothing company Lands End.
We’ve not really had time to relax after Chelsea or GW Live. We constructed the Thrive (www.thrive.org.uk) garden at Chelsea, designed by Jo Thompson (www.jothompson-garden-design.co.uk). It was not just a fun build but it picked up not only a gold medal but also Best Urban Garden. That’s the second time we’ve got that one (nothing like singing your own praises is there?!). Needless to say, we were over the moon, not just for us but for everyone involved, Thrive and – of course – Jo. It was a pleasure working with you.
Just as that one finished it was off to Birmingham for Gardeners’ World Live. To be honest, it’s not as pressurised up there, especially after Chelsea! Adam Frost had asked us to get involved with him, Matt Biggs and Jim Buttress (how could we say no?). Adam had designed the Grow Your Own stage for the celebrities to do their talks from. It all went well even if the weather wasn’t great but have a look at the picture:
